Dumbarton made its name from manufacture of ships, glass, and whiskey, and is now an attractive commuter town for Glasgow. The town is also home to the drama studies of BBC Scotland, making it a place full of creatives and people with big ideas! The scenic Dumbarton Castle sits on a volcanic plug that has been successfully keeping the geological peace for 334 million years. The castle itself was used to imprison William Wallace, and was used as a residential castle for royalty in the past.

One of the local whisky distilleries became well known for the rather unusual 'security' guards used at their warehouse in Dumbarton; a large flock of white Chinese geese that started with just six individuals, and rose to close to 100 birds today. They have the nickname 'The Scotch watch'! Aside from just whiskey, the town is known for its gorgeous buildings and green pastured fields, where many local flowers are allowed to grow in abundance. Dumbarton is also home to a talented bunch of local florists, whom we have been lucky enough to partner up with!
