Merrick is in the Town of Hempstead on the south shore of Nassau County, New York and offers residents a sparse suburban feel and most residents own their homes. Part of the Town of Hempstead, about 12 miles from the eastern edge of Queens, Merrick lies on the East Bay, east of the Meadowbrook State Parkway, west of Bellmore and south of East Meadow.
